Day of Surgery
You may be dropped off in front of our building on your day of surgery. If you arrive prior to 8:30 am, please use the directory to dial “Hayes Valley Surgery Center” and we will page you inside. Please use the elevator located to your left, and come to the third floor. The surgery center is directly across from the elevator on the third floor.
What to Expect on the Day of Surgery?

Please use the elevator located to your left, and come to the third floor. The surgery center is directly across from the elevator on the third floor.
Currently, we are not permitting guests or other visitors due to COVID restrictions with the exception when the patient is a minor - one parent or guardian must stay at the facility for the duration of the surgery.

Your loved ones will be called by one of our Registered Nurses once you are ready to be discharged. If your loved ones would like to stay nearby, there are several parking lots in the area, which do charge a fee. There is also street parking available.

Credit Card, Cashiers’ Check or Cash to cover any co-insurance or deductibles (if applicable)
What to Do Before Your Surgery?
Please bathe or shower prior to your surgery. Do not use lotion or oils after bathing and do not wear makeup or nail polish.
Wear loose, comfortable clothing, such as a sweatsuit and easy-to-button shirts or blouses that are large enough to accommodate large bandages after surgery. Wear comfortable footwear, not high heels and/or boots.

If you wear contacts or glasses, please bring a case for their safekeeping. We provide containers for any dentures or bridgework
Please leave all valuables, including jewelry and cash, other than your method of payment, at home. We cannot be responsible for damaged or lost property. Jewelry cannot be worn during surgery.
It is your responsibility in advance to arrange for a responsible adult to drive you home.
Be prepared to sign a form giving consent for the procedure. If the patient is under the age of 18, the parent or guardian must accompany the patient, sign the consent form, and remain at the facility for the duration of the surgery.
